How Did You Sleep in 2016?

We’ve been working on some new ways to visualize your data and hope to release some new features for you over the next couple of months. Coming soon is a survey response browser, which will allow you to explore summaries of all questions asked in our surveys - more on that later. We’re also working on ways to make visualizations more useful.

Below is an example of a calendar-style visualization for the sleep tracking data provided by you and other participants. This chart shows the average amount of sleep for each day in 2016, with darker blues corresponding to more sleep. We can see that individuals tend to sleep longer on the weekends, which is expected.

Something we found interesting is that the date with the lowest average sleep in 2016 is...Election Day! No matter which way you voted, it was sure to be a restless night for many. We’re very excited to see these “stories” show up in our data. 

We’d like to know if you’d find a personalized display of this tracking calendar useful -- it could be used to track your exercise, sleep, stress levels, etc. Are there any additional features you’d like to see?
