Genes for Good Version 1.1 Results Now Available

We’re happy to announce that we have just improved the genetic results that we provide to our participants who send in a spit kit. The main changes include:

  • The files we return now include rs# IDs for over 90% of the variants, making it easier for you to look up the genetic markers you are interested in.
  • Previously, the 23andMe format files did not contain all the insertion-deletion polymorphisms that were in the VCF files. We corrected this, so now the 23andMe files have all the variants that are in the VCF files.

You can see what the variant list looks like with all the included rs numbers by downloading this ZIP file.

We have not made any substantial changes to the ancestry results, but your plots may look slightly different because we have generated them all new again. The imputed genotypes and phasing may also have changed slightly for the same reason.

Your version 1.0 results have been archived. Please contact us if you are interested in viewing or downloading those for any reason!
